At Wellness Counseling Inc., we provide specialized EMDR consultation designed to support clinicians at every stage of their professional journey. Whether you’re completing hours toward EMDRIA certification, refining your skills with complex cases, or seeking ongoing support to deepen your EMDR practice, our expert consultation services offer the guidance, feedback, and confidence you need to provide exceptional care to your clients.
We help you develop deep understanding of how trauma history, attachment patterns, and client presentation inform EMDR treatment planning. You’ll learn to identify target memories, assess client readiness, and create comprehensive treatment plans that address root causes rather than surface symptoms.
Master the 8-phase EMDR protocol through detailed case review and guided practice. We’ll refine your execution of each phase while teaching you when and how to adapt the protocol for complex presentations including dissociation, personality disorders, and comorbid conditions—maintaining fidelity while meeting client needs.
Develop the discernment to make sound clinical decisions in real-time. Through case consultation, you’ll build confidence navigating challenging moments: knowing when to slow down or speed up, recognizing when clients need more resourcing, and adapting interventions based on client responses during sessions.
EMDR therapy is one of the most researched and effective treatments for trauma recognized by leading mental health organizations including the World Health Organization, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. EMDR has helped millions of people heal from traumatic experiences and move forward with their lives.
At Wellness Counseling Inc., we’ve dedicated our practice to EMDR because we’ve witnessed its transformative power firsthand. Our founder, Arilda Surridge, is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Advanced Trainer—among the highest credentials in EMDR therapy. We’ve seen clinicians master this protocol and become confident, skilled practitioners who change lives through evidence-based trauma treatment.
This is why we’ve dedicated our practice to EMDR consultation and training. We believe every clinician deserves access to expert guidance, supportive mentorship, and the resources necessary to provide exceptional, compassionate care to trauma survivors.
Intensives require emotional stability, motivation, and capacity to engage in concentrated processing work. You should have adequate support systems, stable living situation, and no active substance abuse or severe dissociation that would complicate intensive work. During screening, we'll assess your readiness and determine if intensives are appropriate or if other formats would better serve you.
Some clients with extensive trauma histories benefit from multiple intensives spaced weeks or months apart. Others complete one intensive and transition to occasional weekly or monthly maintenance sessions. We'll discuss what's realistic to accomplish in your intensive and plan for ongoing support as needed.
No. Intensives require your complete focus and energy. You should clear your schedule completely—no work calls, no family caregiving, no other responsibilities. This protected time is essential for deep healing work. Many clients travel to our area and stay in local accommodations to ensure complete separation from daily demands.
While we structure intensives to reach resolution on targeted memories, sometimes additional material emerges requiring more time. In these cases, we ensure you leave stable and grounded, with plans for follow-up sessions to complete processing. Most clients experience substantial relief even if some work remains.
